How to Make Fairy Bread

Read the recipe carefully. Notice the list of things you need and the numbered steps.

Fairy bread is a party food that many Australian children love. It is easy to make and you do not need to cook anything.

You will need:

4 slices of white bread

soft butter or margarine

a small bowl of hundreds and thousands

a butter knife

a plate

What to do:

1. Wash your hands.

2. Put a slice of bread on the plate.

3. Spread a thin layer of butter over the bread. Go right to the edges.

4. Sprinkle hundreds and thousands all over the butter. Press them down gently so they stick.

5. Cut the bread from corner to corner to make two triangles.

6. Do the same with the other slices.

7. Put the triangles on a clean plate and share them with your friends.

Tip: If you spread the butter too thickly, the bread will be hard to cut. A thin layer works best!
