Year 6 Angles Worksheet — Level 3 — Practice Set 3 — Answers
State the angle rule you use.
1.An isosceles triangle has an apex angle of 52°. Find each base angle.
Answer: 64°
- Base angles are equal: (180 − 52) ÷ 2
- = 128 ÷ 2 = 64
2.Two angles of a triangle are 44° and 70°. Find the third angle.
Answer: 66°
- Angles in a triangle add to 180°
- 180 − 44 − 70 = 66
3.An isosceles triangle has an apex angle of 73°. Find each base angle.
Answer: 53.5°
- Base angles are equal: (180 − 73) ÷ 2
- = 107 ÷ 2 = 53.5
4.Three angles meet at a point: 75°, 144° and x°. Find x.
Answer: x = 141
- Angles at a point add to 360°
- x = 360 − 75 − 144 = 141
5.Two angles on a straight line are 106° and x°. Find x.
Answer: x = 74
- Angles on a straight line add to 180°
- x = 180 − 106 = 74
6.Two angles of a triangle are 32° and 30°. Find the third angle.
Answer: 118°
- Angles in a triangle add to 180°
- 180 − 32 − 30 = 118
7.Two angles of a triangle are 67° and 100°. Find the third angle.
Answer: 13°
- Angles in a triangle add to 180°
- 180 − 67 − 100 = 13
8.Two angles of a triangle are 29° and 90°. Find the third angle.
Answer: 61°
- Angles in a triangle add to 180°
- 180 − 29 − 90 = 61
9.An isosceles triangle has an apex angle of 34°. Find each base angle.
Answer: 73°
- Base angles are equal: (180 − 34) ÷ 2
- = 146 ÷ 2 = 73
10.Three angles meet at a point: 52°, 65° and x°. Find x.
Answer: x = 243
- Angles at a point add to 360°
- x = 360 − 52 − 65 = 243
Marking tips
- Give credit for correct method even when the final answer slips — the working shows where the thinking went right.
- For open-ended tasks, use the success criteria as a checklist rather than looking for one "right" answer.
- Celebrate what went well first, then pick one thing to work on next.
