Free Kindergarten Number Worksheets

20 free number resources for Kindergarten: 20 worksheets. Answers included.

Counting, place value, the four operations and number properties. In Kindergarten, children build the foundations: recognizing and writing numbers to 20, counting objects, simple adding and taking away, naming shapes, and in English, letter sounds, early sight words, tracing letters and listening to and retelling stories.

Students will practice: comparing numbers using <, > and =; ordering numbers; using place value to compare; counting objects one by one; counting in groups of five; comparing groups: more and fewer; knowing number bonds to 5; finding a missing part.

Common questions

What do Kindergarten students learn about number?

Counting, place value, the four operations and number properties. At Kindergarten, our resources focus on: comparing numbers using <, > and =; ordering numbers; using place value to compare; counting objects one by one.

Where should we start?

Start with the Level 1 or Level 2 worksheet, then move up a level. Finish with the topic test if there is one.

Are answers included?

Yes — every worksheet has an answer sheet. Maths answer sheets show the working; English tasks include model answers or success criteria.

How to use these resources

  1. Start with the Level 1 worksheet for the topic — if it's easy, move up a level.
  2. Use the answer sheet's working, not just the final answer, to check the method.
  3. Finish a topic with the topic test to see whether the skill is secure.
  4. Two or three short sessions a week beat one long one.
