Free Year 7 Descriptive Language: Adjectives, Adverbs and Phrases Worksheet
Students revise adjectives and adverbs and extend them to adjectival and adverbial phrases, the groups of words (with the broken strap, after the final bell) that add detail to nouns and verbs. They identify single words and phrases, work out what each one modifies, add phrases of time, place and manner to plain sentences and replace tired adjectives with precise ones. The worksheet ends with a short descriptive paragraph, giving students a toolkit for richer narrative and descriptive writing in Year 7.
