Free Year 5 Word Classes: Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives and Adverbs Worksheet

Students learn to sort words into four word classes by the job they do in a sentence: nouns name things, verbs show actions, adjectives describe nouns and adverbs describe verbs. They name the class of a bold word, see how the same word can change class in different sentences, pick out every noun, verb, adjective and adverb in longer sentences, then write and label a sentence of their own.
